Bagaimana Maskulinitas Membungkam Penyintas Laki-laki

Bukan hanya karena “toxic masculinity”. Tapi dari awal, maskulinitas itu sendiri sudah problematik.

Dangkal persepsi soal ‘maskulinitas toksik’

Hari ini, kampanye mengenai maskulinitas toksik gencar digembar-gemborkan. Entah di dalam diskusi feminisme atau bukan, istilah toxic masculinity menjadi topik yang sering diberondol khalayak. Senada dengan toxic relationship, maskulinitas toksik memberi nuansa seakan-akan maskulinitas bisa “healthy” dan dijinakan di bawah sistem patriarki.

Mengapa kekerasan seksual bisa terjadi kepada laki-laki

Media membingkai penyintas laki-laki yang bungkam, serta-merta hanya disebabkan akibat maskulinitas toksik semata.

Maskulinitas akan selalu membungkam penyintas

Selama ini, maskulinitas terlalu baku dan sempit diartikan. Padahal, maskulinitas sendiri merupakan konsep identitas sosial yang cair pun dinamis (Butler, 1997).
